A Place of Celebration

In the center of the DeKoven campus, St. John’s Church was built in 1864 and for over 50 years served as the chapel for the students and faculty of Racine College.

Since that time, St. Jbride.jpgohn’s has welcomed wedding guests, retreatants, and various communities in prayer.St. John’s beautiful Belgian Stained glass windows and vaulted ceiling with unique scissor trusses provide a striking and historic atmosphere for weddings and other special events throughout the year. The original carved wooden pews in choir form can accomodate up to 150 people. A fine pipe organ is located in the choir loft at the west end of the chapel. There are wonderful acoustics, and the chapel is fully amplified. It is also handicapped accessible.

Outdoor weddings can also be accomodated in one of our beautiful gardens.

Receptions can be held in several places, including the Taylor Hall Dining Room, The Great Hall, Assembly Hall or outdoors on the grounds.
